Now that things are starting to reopen and that we can travel again, here are some exercise and workout ideas for your next trip!
Working out or exercising while on vacation does not have to be fancy at all. Vacations are meant to be a time of enjoyment and relaxation during which you can unwind and take time for yourself. Whether it is enjoying the beach, riding in the countryside, or exploring the mountains, we all have different expectations when it comes to our off time. However, depending on how long you go away, you don’t want to lose all the hard work you have been putting in, and have all the exercises you were mastering before you left feel difficult when you come back! Staying active during your vacations goes a long way to not losing all the progress you have made over weeks or months.
So how do you go about staying active while on your vacations? You could set up times for workouts, following what you have been doing with your trainer. The best way to do it is to write down some exercises that you are familiar with and a number of repetitions and sets you want to do for each exercise. Writing it down will keep you on track and is a way to commit to your workout, because we know it is so easy to get distracted when a cocktail or your favorite meal is waiting for you in front of a beach view ?
But you don’t have to workout when on vacations, you can also stay active without a defined workout. You can go for a run around your vacation site, you can bike around and explore the area, or you can even walk to special locations you have been wanting to visit instead of taking your car. These are all simple ways to stay active during your vacations and will make you feel good about your body and help you eliminate the feeling of guilt you may have when enjoying food and beverages. This unwind time is so important, especially now that we are finally able to get out of town and think about something else than COVID or work. It is important to take time for yourself and refresh your mind, which will help your body relax and be ready for the workouts to come!
