Here it is, 2022 has arrived, and with it the usual New Year’s resolutions. Everybody is trying to be a better version of themselves, sometimes just following what everybody else is doing. New Year’s resolutions might be overrated, but it is always a good idea to set up some goals for the year, even if they are not made on the first day of the year. Having a vision for the year sets us up for success and it is a good reason to start doing things that we have been putting away for a long time. The most important thing is just to start!
What does this mean for your training? Maybe it is a good time to set up some training goals that you would like to achieve this year. Maybe you would like to be able to finally do a full push up. Maybe you would like to be able to run 10K without a break. Or maybe your goal for this year is to show up consistently and to start enjoying your sessions at the gym. Whatever it might be and however it might look for you, by setting some goals you are setting yourself up for success.
Your goals could also be related to your well being more in general. Maybe you want to start meditating in the morning or at night. Maybe you want to consistently move daily, whether it is going to the gym, getting 10K steps in or drinking enough water. Your “resolutions” don’t have to be fancy; they just need to resonate for you and be purposeful. You don’t have to follow a trend or try to do the same thing as your friends are doing. They need to be meaningful to you and bring you closer to your goals this year.
So, what are your New Year’s resolutions?
